I have lost 30 pounds and toned up a bit over the past year by staying in the gym and eating ok most of the time. After working out almost daily for a year and getting great results, I'm ready to be done with "getting" fit and just be fit already! Why is looking fit so important to me? Because I was thin before. I liked the way I felt about how I looked then, more than I do now. The difference is now, I don't just want to be thin, I want to look strong. Enter sports nutrition products and The Advocare 24 Day Challenge to lean out and tone up.
So yesterday I took my "before" pictures, weight and measurements. The pictures are not too bad, but I will not be posting any before pics before some significantly improved "after" pics are available to post in tandem. I learned my lesson during my lst public weight loss attempt, which I only made it halfway through. Nobody ever needed to know that much about my waistline, ever. I'm 30 pounds lighter than I was when I took those pictures and am in way better shape. Still, having an awesome looking current photo to display right next to a not-so-fabulous before photo is a lot less embarrassing than just having a thick-waisted before photo just out there.
The challenge consists of an Herbal Cleanse on days 1-10, and taking the Advocare supplements and vitamins on days 11-24. The cleanse is not a fast--just fiber drinks and tablets to work with the foods I eat to scrub my digestive tract. Don't think I need to explain that further. :)
I'm supposed to clean up my eating, which after only one day, I see that is going to be the real challenge. I thought I was doing a pretty good job, but didn't realize how much added fat and sugar I eat on a daily basis, until I had to eliminate it. Yesterday, I turned to oranges and apples to satisfy my sweet tooth, when I normally would have eaten a cereal bar or a cup of black tea with cream and sugar. It takes a lot of discipline to eliminate those things for 10 straight days. Oh, and I also have to replace white rice and bread with whole grain versions and eat lean meats. But it's only 10 days during the cleanse. After that, I can eat sensibly and take the recommended supplements including a protein shake for breakfast, sugar-free energy drinks to fuel my workouts, daily multi-vitamins, and Catalyst to reduce fat and tone muscle.
I sell Advocare products and am so excited to have the chance to show y'all how well they work. The only thing I'll really be changing over the next 24 Days is my food and supplement intake. Yes, I'm training for a 5k, but on my running days, I'll skip my other form of cardio. My "after" pics are gonna be like, POW! Can't wait to share them and my inches/weight lost with you guys. A few others are doing the cleanse and/or challenge with me as well. I look forward to sharing their losses too.
If you follow my progress and want to do the challenge too, take the challenge! Then share your losses with me too. I'll post them here! I will be doing the challenge again in April (to get ready for summer) and the cleanse every 90 days just to keep me young. Feel free to join me any time. Click on the image to the right to see the weight/inch loss tracker along with descriptions of the supplements I'll be taking during the challenge.
Wish me luck. 23 Days to go!

Go Raquel!! I'm excited. Just wait, your cravings will curb dramatically soon.

Kristin, ultimately, I did great. Did you see my before/after pics and video? Here is the link just in case: http://www.homegirlruns.com/advocare-24-day-challenge.html. I didn't lose very many pounds (but gained muscle), but the inches lost speaks volumes. Let me know if you have any questions!
